Melissa is from the Blue Mountains and has been practicing yoga for 5 years and completed yoga teacher training with the IYTA( International Yoga Teacher Training association) in 2015. Her newly found passion for permaculture has taken over from yoga in the most recent couple of years. The opportunity to attendant the IPC International Permaculture Convergence in November gave rise to attend the International Yoga Festival at Yogapoint ashram in Nasik India, the trip really solidified the relationship between yoga and permaculture reaffirmed a tangible way to provide PEOPLE CARE within the permaculture community.
“I have thought of permaculture as yoga for the planet ever since I first heard it defined. The correlation between the permaculture principles and yoga yamas and Niyamas have struck me from the outset.” I believe yoga is for everyone and hope to bring the benefits of yoga to the APC via an Autumn series of gentle morning yoga classes to inspire creating space for rest, relaxation and new personal growth.
