Virginia has been involved with permaculture education since she did her PDC in 1994, and with Accredited Permaculture Training (APT) since its inception. Now retired from teaching, she works to support her students and colleagues – which sometimes includes helping them to find meaningful work in permaculture – and also to facilitate the ongoing roll-out of APT training. She is a member of the Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping and Conservation & Land Management Industry Reference Committee representing Permaculture and Conservation. She dreams of a world where people with permaculture skills are highly sought-after, where a myriad of courses are available in all states and at all levels, and where job ads see permaculture qualifications as desirable. Virginia lives in Melbourne in a rambling outer-suburban retrofitted house with her husband, assorted animals, and a perpetual stream of family, visitors and guests.
